The content of the terms and conditions on this page is for people who wish to publish with PICEbooks and can be changed or updated without notice. Our clients and those wishing to be clients are therefore advised to visit this page from time to time to see how a change or update has affected them as a notice may not be posted to announce the change. PICEbooks disclaims from any liabilities whatsoever arising from your decisions based on this page. If you do not agree to the terms, please do not fill the form below.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Congratulations. Finally, you are ready to take your writing to the next level - the market place. You are set to be heard and seen by the whole world and we at PICEbooks are poised to help you on. However, to get published using our services, implies that:

• You are at least 18 years old by the time of submitting your manuscript and if younger, will grant your immediate parents or guardians to stand for you in this contract after such considerations have been communicated to us and permissions granted.

• You agree that our website (www.picebooks.com) is the only avenue by which we collect and collate data concerning writer(s)/authors. Data here also includes the publishable materials (also referred to as "works of art", "intelligence materials", "books", "entry", "manuscripts") of the author/copyright (also referred to as "writers," "copyright owner"). We will not accept/acknowledge any submission or express consideration for submissions at any of our offices, in person (hard copy or soft), via mail, e-mail, or any such like. Please note that all manuscripts (if demanded) must have been typed in 'Arial font face' of 12 points and must have been edited by competent editors. PICEbooks may not be patient to peruse your book if the first few pages don't 'smell good'.

• Any false piece of information spotted before, during or after the submission of your intelligence material could render your entry invalid.

• In using our services, writers solemnly posits that the work of art submitted is entirely original, that rights to it completely belongs to them and nothing exactly like it, in part or full can be found anywhere to be infringing copyright. PICEbooks disclaims from any liabilities whatsoever arising from any submitted works of arts that infringes copyright laws of any country of the world.

• You understood that PICEbooks does not assure or guarantee that every submitted material will be considered for publishing or finally published. Every publishable material will be examined by our team of editors, using some parameters to determine what will go through and what won't. A small compulsory fee will be paid by the writer for this service. If after eight weeks, PICEbooks does not get back to you on your submitted material then you would understand that PICEbooks does not deem it fit to be published by us.

• Agree that you will accept our decision whether to publish your work or not.

• PICEbooks cannot be held accountable if characters, theme, plot, etc, in her novels (including books published by PICEbooks for other writers) bears a resemblance or is nearly simillar (in part or full) to a work submitted for consideration. You agree also not to sue PICEbooks. Writers are advised to register their materials with the copyright commission of their country or a Writers' Guild as the case may be.

• You understand that your script can be selected from amongst our numerous submissions and if yours is, you are willing and capable of pushing your publishing dreams to reality in terms of contribution of necessary efforts.

• You will bear the full financial cost of publishing your work as PICEbooks will estimate and communicate to you and you are required to pay the full charge before your work will be published and delivered.

• PICEbooks will offer to bear the financial burden (and other applicable costs) of publishing such works of art which her editors deem as 'exceptional' but the granting right lies entirely on the copyright-owner of the manuscript. Where the writer agrees to have the company bear the publishing costs, s/he also entirely forfeits her right of marketing to the company. PICEbooks pays writers of this sort annually on an already agreed profit-sharing ratio.

• You have read, complied and will comply with all the rules, regulations, terms and conditions set forth and that you have not perpetrated and will not perpetrate any fraud or deception on your way to getting published, neither will you influence or seek to influence the outcome of the decision process other than submitting your manuscript as permitted by the terms and conditions.

• Release, indemnify and hold harmless PICEbooks, our respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies; the employees, officers, directors, representatives and agents of each of the foregoing; and the heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns of the foregoing collectively. The foregoing are released from any claims, demands, payments, actions or causes of action, for damages, loss or injury,arising as a result of submiting your manuscript which you or your heirs may now or hereafter have.

• You grant the PICEbooks, her parent company and any of her clients or designees the right to use your name, city or residence and any image taken of you by or on behalf of PICEbooks, in connection with your submission and subsequent publishing (if considered), in any and all media now or hereafter devised without limitation and without additional compensation, notification or permission or other liability to you or your heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives or assigns.

• You have been given the full opportunity to review and analyse the terms and conditions and compliance of release and that you fully and completely understand all of the terms and agree to abide by it voluntarily, freely and knowingly.
